About the position

The MFG Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing department in the absence of the Supervisor, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to safety and quality standards. This role involves leading a team, coordinating tasks, and maintaining compliance with company policies while embodying the core values of Kroger Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the department when the Supervisor is unavailable.
• Ensure the department runs efficiently, meeting all goals and objectives.
• Perform all jobs safely, efficiently, and accurately to improve plant performance in Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR), and Customer 1st strategy.
• Provide leadership that embodies Kroger Manufacturing High Performance Work System Principles.
• Model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
• Receive assignments from the shift supervisor and direct associates accordingly.
• Coordinate on-the-job training and cross-training with co-workers and newly hired associates.
• Address and resolve issues through the Quality Improvement Process and Work Order Request System.
• Assist Shift Supervisor in developing and complying with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Participate actively in team meetings and represent shift issues to management.
• Facilitate communication within the department and across shifts.
• Complete safety observations as assigned.
• Maintain regular attendance and work overtime as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Forklift certification required.
• Basic math skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous food manufacturing experience.
