About the position

The Mfg/Process/Industrial Engineer position is a contract role based in Huntsville, AL, with a duration of over three months. The primary focus of this role is to execute field time-motion studies on processes involved in chemical processing and precision cleaning. The hired candidate will be responsible for performing time studies, making observations, and forming opinions regarding identified issues, their causes, and possible solutions. This involves gathering data through time studies, observations, or data analysis to form informed opinions about operational challenges and their resolutions. In addition to conducting time studies, the engineer will perform analyses aimed at improving operations, determining hourly labor requirements, and developing planning standards. The role also includes assisting with analyses that are smaller subcomponents of larger, more complex projects. The engineer will provide input into the design for simple studies under the direction of a supervisor, plan study schedules, meet and train hourly data collectors when applicable, and ensure proper data collection. Based on study observations, the engineer will provide input to aid in troubleshooting and problem-solving, managing the data input and organization of time study data collected. The engineer will also be responsible for developing ad hoc queries and reports needed for others to track and monitor operating performance, updating and maintaining existing databases and spreadsheet tables. This role requires the ability to gather and manipulate large quantities of data into a format necessary for analysis. Furthermore, the engineer will actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policies, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, including consolidating and validating industrial engineering models.
