About the position
The Air and Gas Tester position at Rheem Manufacturing is an entry-level role within the Water Heating Division located in Montgomery, AL. The primary purpose of this role is to conduct visual inspections of tanks and gas lines to ensure safety and quality before packaging. The tester will be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment and adhering to safety protocols while performing inspections and tests on various units.
Responsibilities
- Visual inspection of tanks for leaks using air pressure or water.
- Inspect gas lines for heater gas leaks before packaging.
- Properly hook-up gas lines (L.P. or Natural gas) to units for leaks.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
- Work from written or verbal orders.
- Observe all departmental safety requirements.
- Inspect units or parts for defects and workmanship.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift continuously between 5-25 lbs.
- Frequent lifting of 25-60 lbs.
- Occasional lifting of 60+ lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and/or lift repetitively during the shift.
- Ability to frequently lift in unsupported positions and perform bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
