About the position

The Area Inventory Monitor at Rheem Manufacturing plays a crucial role in ensuring inventory accuracy within the Water Heating Division located in Montgomery, AL. This position is responsible for verifying and validating system-generated transactions, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of inventory records. The Area Inventory Monitor will provide guidance to all related customers who share inventory responsibilities, ensuring that all parties are aligned in their efforts to manage inventory effectively. In this role, the Area Inventory Monitor will perform daily counts on negative inventory, which is vital for identifying discrepancies and ensuring that inventory levels are accurate. The position also involves supporting the completion of inventory audits within assigned areas, which helps to maintain compliance with company policies and procedures. Additionally, the Area Inventory Monitor will receive materials into the assigned line, checking for accuracy in both part and quantity, and will perform Oracle's inventory transaction verification to ensure that all records are correct regarding part, quantity, and location. The Area Inventory Monitor will assist in the annual physical inventory and all work-in-progress (WIP) cycle counts, contributing to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the inventory management process. While performing these duties, the employee will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and may encounter fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and the risk of electrical shock. The work environment is typically very loud due to heavy traffic from power trucks (forklifts), and the employee will be required to perform various physical tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting materials up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform counts on negative inventory on a daily basis.
  • Provide support in completing inventory audits within assigned areas.
  • Receive material into assigned line checking for accuracy of part and quantity.
  • Perform Oracle's inventory transaction verification for accuracy of part, quantity, and location.
  • Assist in annual physical inventory and all WIP cycle counts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Analytical and problem identification/solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic Excel skills.
  • Experience with MS Office: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Familiarity with Oracle applications.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle's Inventory Management, back-flush process, and sub-inventory relationship.
