About the position

The Manager, Project Management 3 position at Northrop Grumman serves as a Chief of Staff for the Missile Products Business Unit, reporting directly to the VP. This role is crucial for ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of business unit operations, facilitating executive engagements, and supporting strategic initiatives. The selected candidate will be part of the leadership team, responsible for integrating operational objectives, preparing the VP for meetings, and driving process improvements within the unit.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate day-to-day operational objectives to meet the Business Unit's financial and non-financial goals.
  • Prepare Business Unit VP for senior level internal meetings and customer engagements with relevant information and materials.
  • Work with leadership to identify focus areas for process improvement and execute operational initiatives.
  • Support the development and execution of the Business Unit's Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Strategic Plan.
  • Coordinate the development, review, and reporting of Business Unit operating objectives and non-financial metrics.
  • Ensure deliverables required by Division level business rhythms are coordinated and delivered on-time.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the VP and the Missile Product's leadership team.
  • Drive execution of strategic initiatives and tasks initiated by the VP.
  • Act as a focal point for communication and collaboration among Missile Products functional and operating unit leaders.
  • Support employee engagement activities such as VP Leadership All Hands and Leader Site Visits.
  • Lead internal special projects as requested by the VP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of related experience and minimum of 7 years project management experience.
  • Ability to operate effectively in an ambiguous environment and address issues without specific direction.
  • Possess a strategic mindset to identify areas for improvement and bridge gaps between functions.
  • Ability to anticipate potential challenges and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within critical deadlines.
  • Strong data analytic capability and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with senior management.
  • Ability to safeguard sensitive information and respect confidentiality.
  • Understanding of program financial performance and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Highly advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS or MBA degree in a technical, business or related field.
  • PMP or similar certification.
  • Strong understanding of Northrop Grumman culture and processes.
  • Experience with Defense Community customers.
  • Experience with international programs and operations.
