The Accounting Manager at JLG, an Oshkosh company, plays a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day activities of the finance function, specifically focusing on various accounting responsibilities. This position is pivotal in ensuring the accurate and timely recording of transactions related to AFS Credit and Financing, Bad Debt reserves, Property, Plant, and Equipment (PPE), and lease accounting. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will handle revenue recognition associated with cloud-based services and other assigned duties. This role also encompasses general ledger (GL) accounting support, which includes managing systems and specific responsibilities related to the monthly close process. Compliance with company policies and procedures is essential, particularly in support of the Global Controllership function. The Accounting Manager will support the Controllership team during the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, providing guidance on US GAAP for accounting transactions. A key aspect of this role involves identifying and supporting continuous improvement projects, utilizing Continuous Improvement Management System (CIMS) tools and concepts to drive advanced analysis in assigned business areas. The manager will also champion the Oshkosh People First competencies, focusing on engaging, developing, and connecting with team members, including direct reports. In addition to maintaining specific GL accounting responsibilities and account reconciliations, the Accounting Manager will ensure the maintenance of internal controls, process narratives, and other documentation related to value streams. This position requires collaboration with both internal and external customers to lead and grow the business, driving analysis in assigned areas and preparing monthly results for management. The manager will also interact with other departments on complex business issues that impact financial projections and will manage budgets while providing annual support to cross-functional teams during the budgeting cycle and in periodic monthly reviews.
