As the Manager of Financial Reporting at Deltek, you will play a pivotal role in leading a global finance team that empowers project-based customers around the world. In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of four direct reports, guiding them through various accounting processes and ensuring that all financial reporting is accurate and timely. You will be responsible for reviewing and approving monthly journal entries, supporting schedules, and account reconciliations. Your analytical skills will be crucial as you prepare financial statement variance analyses, identifying the business drivers behind fluctuations. Additionally, you will oversee the consolidation of financial data and submissions to our parent entity, ensuring that all reporting meets the required standards. Your responsibilities will also include coordinating internal and external audits, maintaining global accounting policies, and providing guidance to ensure compliance with these policies. You will manage bank administration tasks, including preparing confirmation letters for auditors, and help maintain year-end statutory trial balances. As part of your role, you will analyze account balances from acquired entities to determine appropriate accounting treatments and lead cross-functional teams in the planning and integration of these acquisitions. This position requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. You will be expected to draft technical accounting memos and policies, and perform other accounting and finance tasks as deemed necessary by management. Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of 4 direct reports
  • Review and/or approve various monthly journal entries, supporting schedules, and account reconciliations
  • Prepare financial statement variance analysis identifying business drivers of the fluctuations
  • Oversee the consolidation and other submissions to our Parent entity
  • Coordinate internal and external audits (including statutory) and statistical reporting
  • Prepare and maintain global accounting policies, provide guidance, and ensure compliance
  • Oversee bank administration including bank confirmation letters for the auditors
  • Help maintain year-end statutory trial balances to be utilized by the accountants
  • Analyze acquired entity account balances to determine appropriate accounting treatment
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the planning and integration of acquired entities, including rollup of financial results and acquired account balances
  • Prepare journal entries for acquisitions including the opening balance sheet and purchase accounting
  • Draft technical accounting memos and accounting policy
  • Perform other accounting/finance tasks as deemed necessary by management

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting
  • 6+ years progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 and industry
  • Strong leadership and organization skills
  • Minimum 2 years managing staff
  • Excellent time management, organizational, change management, problem-solving skills, as well as written and verbal communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and adhere to strict deadlines
  • Ability to appropriately manage confidential information
  • Proficiency with MS Office

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred CPA, MBA or Master's Degree
  • Knowledge of acquisition/purchase accounting
  • Experience with a global multinational company with US GAAP reporting requirements
  • Familiarity with statutory reporting requirements such as IFRS and local GAAP
  • Treasury/Bank Administration
  • Experience with BlackLine, COGNOS, CostPoint
