The Asset Resilience Manager position is a critical role within the Southern Company Technology Organization (TO), responsible for leading and managing the Asset Resilience department. This department plays a vital role in ensuring the resilience and recoverability of critical technology assets, which include both software and hardware, essential for the ongoing operations of Southern Company. The primary focus of this position is to oversee the Asset Resilience program, which encompasses the identification, assessment, and testing of these critical assets to ensure they can withstand and recover from disruptive events. This role goes beyond traditional Disaster Recovery, incorporating a comprehensive approach to asset management and resilience. In this position, the Asset Resilience Manager will manage a team of Asset Resilience Liaisons, balancing workloads and ensuring effective program operations. The manager will work within the Technology Resilience Governance framework to establish and maintain the necessary requirements, processes, metrics, documentation, and communication materials for the program. Evaluating program performance metrics is essential to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, allowing for continuous improvement of the program. The manager will also optimize the program by balancing risk, cost, complexity, efficiency, and stakeholder needs. The role requires effective communication with all stakeholders, including education and reporting on program status. Collaboration with leadership across the Technology Organization and other departments is crucial to ensure alignment with business continuity, incident response, change management, and risk management efforts. The Asset Resilience Manager will also be responsible for researching and adopting best practices to enhance the resilience and recoverability of technology assets, orchestrating successful recovery efforts following catastrophic events, and ensuring readiness to meet established Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO). Additionally, the manager will serve in an on-call rotation as the Critical Situation Escalation Manager, further emphasizing the importance of this role in maintaining operational integrity during crises.
