About the position

The Mgr Business Analysis - Financial Systems role at FedEx Logistics is a pivotal position that requires close collaboration with various stakeholders, including value stream owners, IT partners, global finance back offices, and finance operational teams. The primary focus of this role is to create and deliver finance-related digital products, processes, and services. The successful candidate will engage actively in the design and implementation of solutions for financial products, working alongside both the Business and IT teams. This involves applying architectural principles to define and translate value stream goals and needs into actionable roadmaps. In this role, the individual will define, design, develop, integrate, implement, and continuously improve relevant finance products, controls, and services. This includes supporting the usage, acceptance, and development of capabilities that drive finance operational efficiencies and customer growth/retention. The position serves as a bridge between development teams, day-to-day business operations, and the strategic transformation team, empowering the individual to drive performance and clarity in executing priorities through structured development planning increments. The Mgr Business Analysis will also be responsible for providing relevant business content and supporting the planning, management, reporting, and coordination of the digital transformation roadmap. Acting as a Finance Business Architect, the individual will serve as an ambassador and change agent for digital transformation and global standardization. Leadership within projects is a key aspect of this role, ensuring that solutions are delivered on time and within budget constraints while providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) representation to other key stakeholders. The role requires a combination of functional business strategy knowledge and technical solution impact knowledge to deconstruct complex concepts into smaller, simplified components. The Business Architect - Financial Systems will lead the design and delivery of digital products and services transformation related to financial applications across FedEx Logistics, enhancing efficiencies and strengthening financial controls. This includes leading the business requirement definition and functional design of digital services and products that reflect customer requirements and business needs, ensuring that all financial systems comply with regulatory, SOX, and GAAP accounting principles.

Responsibilities

  • Closely collaborate with value stream owners, IT partners, and finance operational teams to create and deliver finance-related digital products.
  • Engage in the design and implementation of solutions for financial products by collaborating with Business and IT.
  • Define, design, develop, integrate, implement, and continuously improve finance products, controls, and services.
  • Support the usage, acceptance, and development of capabilities that drive finance operational efficiencies and customer growth/retention.
  • Act as a bridge between development teams, day-to-day business, and the strategic transformation team.
  • Provide relevant business content and support the planning, management, reporting, and coordination of the digital transformation roadmap.
  • Act as an ambassador and change agent for digital transformation and global standardization.
  • Take accountability for ensuring solutions are delivered on time and within budget constraints.
  • Provide SME representation to key stakeholders within projects.
  • Assist with data-mapping, designing systems landscapes, and informational processes for financial systems and reporting needs.
  • Establish and manage the financial services and products capabilities roadmap.
  • Ensure compliance of all financial systems with regulatory, SOX, and GAAP accounting principles.
  • Assist in defining and writing test scripts related to financial activities to ensure data integrity and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of finance experience in logistics/freight forwarding.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of product development experience working with IT in logistics/freight forwarding (total of 5 years in finance and product development).
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship will not be provided.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent education.
  • Experience with CargoWise as the core freight and brokerage systems.
  • Experience with financial system development, financial reporting, and finance regulatory compliance in the freight forwarding space.
  • Experience designing system landscapes and information processes for international finance capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of finance, accounting, GAAP, etc.
  • Experience in working with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
  • Experience with mapping financial data and writing SQL.
  • Ability to manage priorities in product development and process optimization.
