About the position

The Manager of Cloud Infrastructure at Nuvance Health is a pivotal role responsible for the coordination, integration, management, and implementation of cloud computing technologies across all hospitals and affiliates within the organization. This position requires a strategic mindset to set the direction for cloud enablement, ensuring that the IT leadership team is aligned with the overall business objectives. The manager will be involved in planning, analysis, reporting, and the development of policies and standards that govern cloud technology use. Additionally, this role emphasizes staff development, requiring the manager to mentor and guide employees under their supervision. In this role, the manager will leverage data to assess risks, impacts, and priorities related to business objectives, enabling the team to drive results effectively. Collaboration with senior leadership is essential to ensure that the cloud migration strategy is supported across the organization. The manager will lead the execution of strategic initiatives aimed at leveraging information technology to meet key business objectives, particularly in the realm of cloud enablement. Personnel management is a significant aspect of this position, encompassing responsibilities such as interviewing, onboarding, training, and managing performance issues, including disciplinary actions. The manager will also work closely with other IT department members to establish long-term technology requirements and standards for cloud-based applications and technologies. Staying abreast of the rapidly evolving cloud infrastructure and engineering industry is crucial, as is maintaining a security-first approach to cloud security principles. The manager will contribute to the development of software engineering fundamentals and ensure the execution of technology initiatives aligns with organizational goals. They will also be responsible for maintaining high levels of customer support through proactive management and continuous improvement initiatives. Monitoring service ticket queues and responding to emergency issues during off-hours are also part of the role, along with a metrics-guided approach to drive operational efficiencies. Overall, the Manager of Cloud Infrastructure will embody and model the values of Nuvance Health while performing other duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Set Strategy, Tactics and Roadmaps across areas of oversight.
  • Leverage data to understand risk, impact, scope, and priorities of our business objectives, and enable the team to drive results.
  • Collaborate effectively with Sr. Leadership to ensure cross-Nuvance Health alignment and support for the Cloud Migration strategy and vision.
  • Lead the execution of strategic initiatives to achieve long-term objectives of effective leveraging of information technology to meet key business objectives as it relates to cloud enablement.
  • Responsible for personnel management to include interviewing and selection of staff, onboarding and training, counseling, and disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
  • Work with other members of the IT Department to establish long-term technology requirements and standards for cloud-based applications and technologies.
  • Research the rapidly changing cloud infrastructure and engineering industry and drive alternate solutions.
  • Maintain a security-first process to ensure guiding cloud security principles.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the development of software engineering or product fundamentals and execution of technology at large.
  • Complete annual assessments and provide coaching and career path guidance.
  • Maintain the highest level of customer support for the customer base through proactive management and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor service ticket queues, assign tickets to staff and respond to emergency issues during off hours.
  • Adopt a metrics-guided approach to drive operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain and model Nuvance Health values.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Certified IT Architect or Equivalent
  • Experience in cloud computing technologies and infrastructure management
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills

  • Knowledge of cloud security principles and practices
