About the position

The Manager of Commercial Business Solutions at Constellation is responsible for leading a team that drives continuous improvement and excellence through analysis and delivery of initiatives aligned with the organization's strategic business objectives. This role involves managing technology investments, leading data conversion and testing assurance for projects, and collaborating with IT to deliver effective technology solutions across various business lines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, feedback, and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of teamwork.
  • Create metrics to monitor and measure the quality and timely delivery of value-added working software and solutions.
  • Communicate team progress, status, and issues to management.
  • Identify the need for system/process changes and workload reallocation based on evolving business needs.
  • Develop and implement team-level plans for communication, leadership, technical skill training, and increasing industry knowledge.
  • Build and maintain a high-performance team through effective hiring and onboarding practices.
  • Manage individual and team performance using goals, metrics, quality assurance, and development plans.
  • Focus on employee engagement and team culture development.
  • Foster stakeholder engagement and cross-functional communication to execute the company's strategy.
  • Utilize subject matter expertise to collaborate with project groups, Information Technology, and cross-functional teams.
  • Lead and manage projects, applying project management methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
  • Drive innovation and automation of processes through the adoption of new technologies.
  • Collaborate with other teams to provide recommendations for ongoing workflow innovation.
  • Exercise independent judgment to investigate and resolve discrepancies in work processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to select appropriate actions for issue resolution.
  • Maintain an understanding of business, contractual, regulatory, and market policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years work experience required or 12 years combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrative management/leadership skills (3 or more years of leadership/management experience).
  • Proven ability to develop a team through recruitment, training, and personal development.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, in oral or written form, with internal and external parties.
  • Sustain high performance in ambiguous and stressful situations.
  • Ability to make quick and independent decisions earning credibility.
  • Ability to reach agreement across departmental boundaries.
  • Ability to influence key business decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Results driven and team oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills with ability to solve new and complex problems quickly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in relevant field (business, information systems, etc.).
  • Prior experience in using CRM and/or Order-to-Cash workflow systems.
  • Knowledge of both retail and wholesale business.
  • 5+ years work experience within energy sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically.
  • Ability to lead a team with multiple employees in remote locations.
  • Familiarity with test management tools and defect tracking systems.
