About the position

The Manager of Community Engagement at CPS Energy is responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance customer enrollment in energy efficiency programs and services. This role involves managing outreach teams, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and fostering relationships with community stakeholders to promote CPS Energy's initiatives. The position requires strong leadership skills, public speaking abilities, and a commitment to community service, with a focus on low-income assistance and small/medium business support.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor strategy, capacity, workflow plans, and budgets for low-income assistance programs and SMB programs.
  • Act as the internal and external liaison between city council offices, city/county departments, non-profit agencies, and various CPS Energy departments.
  • Ensure direct reports are embedded in the community to promote engagement and increase program enrollment.
  • Develop segment-specific strategic plans based on customer insights and demographic data.
  • Mediates and resolves conflicts between the public, CPS Energy, and contractors.
  • Manage record-keeping requirements for energy efficiency funds and gains from programs.
  • Manage customer satisfaction and recognition through surveys and recognition programs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partner organizations and local government personnel.
  • Conduct public speaking engagements and participate in local business organizations.
  • Assume command function during extended outages, coordinating teams and customer communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with demonstrated customer service and supervisory experience.
  • Management experience in customer service, municipal government, or economic development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle competing priorities.
  • Experience working towards goals of low-income assistance and small/medium business support.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with elected officials and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership experience supervising a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, MS Project, and Visio.
  • Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.

  • CEM (Certified Energy Manager) or BPI Certification - or equivalent.
