About the position

This position at HCSC is responsible for managing the extraterritorial team that produces customer-specific documents for both new and existing business. The role ensures compliance with corporate guidelines, underwriting policies, benefit specifications, and statutory requirements. The manager will oversee performance, quality, and resource allocation across all product lines, including key sales support components from benefit selection to booklet delivery. Additionally, the position involves implementing strategies, projects, and initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage the extraterritorial team responsible for document production.
• Ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and underwriting policies.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of standard and custom booklets.
• Manage performance and quality across all product lines.
• Allocate resources effectively to support business operations.
• Implement strategies and initiatives to improve processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of health insurance contract operations experience OR a Master's degree with 2 years of health insurance contract operations experience.
• Knowledge of health products, underwriting requirements, and contract arrangements.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Project management skills.
• Customer service experience and acumen.
• Leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• J.D. degree or 4 years of experience in a leadership role with independent decision-making.
• Knowledge of external adjudication processes.
• Familiarity with large or national account contract specifications and processing systems.
• Understanding of corporate marketing practices and health insurance product lines.
