About the position

As a Data Insights Manager on the Fraud Protection team at Spectrum, you will play a crucial role in managing a team of analysts dedicated to building and improving fraud detection strategies within the organization. Your primary focus will be on leveraging your strategic thinking, domain expertise, and technical abilities to address business challenges while maintaining a balance between robust fraud controls and minimal customer friction. The Fraud Protection Team is responsible for conducting in-depth investigations to identify and eliminate various types of fraud, ensuring the safety of customer information and enhancing the exceptional services that Spectrum is known for. In this position, you will establish a team-wide vision and oversee the analysis of business intelligence ecosystems, strategy performance, end-to-end automation, and report development. You will define strategic priorities for the team, identify trends, and lead efforts to maximize risk versus return for the business. Utilizing data and analytics, you will solve complex problems, coach employees, and collaborate with technology, product, and fraud leadership to drive performance. Additionally, you will partner with Information Technology and Business Intelligence organizations to obtain new reference data sources necessary for enhancing strategies, and work with the User Experience & Design organization to ensure that reports and dashboards are user-friendly and industry-leading. On a typical day, you will rely on your in-depth understanding of the fraud landscape, data, and reporting technologies to navigate the ever-evolving challenges in fraud prevention and investigation. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that individual projects are appropriately supported and completed on time, contributing to the overall success of the Fraud Protection Team and Spectrum as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of analysts to build and improve fraud detection strategies.
  • Establish team-wide vision and oversee the analysis of business intelligence ecosystems.
  • Define strategic priorities for the team and identify trends to maximize risk vs return.
  • Utilize data and analytics to solve complex problems and coach employees.
  • Partner with Information Technology and Business Intelligence organizations for new data sources.
  • Collaborate with User Experience & Design to ensure usability of reports and dashboards.
  • Work with technical and leadership teams to support and complete projects on time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing products and services environment.
  • 5+ years of experience working within a data platform and data analysis environment.
  • 5+ years of experience managing complex projects.
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams of data analysts and data scientists.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated in-depth skills with SQL.
  • In-depth understanding of design and implementation practices in Tableau desktop and server.
  • Knowledge of Agile Development Methodologies and advanced analytics processes.
  • Effective use of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to balance conflicting resource demands and internal pressures with business priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to manage development within various technology stacks and supervise others.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of management or leadership experience.
