About The Position

The Field Operations Manager at GCI is responsible for supervising and managing the technical workforce involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications infrastructure. This role emphasizes training, development, and mentoring of the team while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The manager will lead by example, promote a safety-first culture, and ensure operational efficiency and service excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in telecommunications, electronics, engineering, business management, or related field.
• Minimum of seven years of experience in Field Operations in the telecommunications industry.
• At least three years in a supervisory or management position leading field technicians.
• Strong knowledge of HFC, Fiber Optic, and RF systems, including installation and maintenance techniques.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• SCTE Broadband Transport Specialist (BTS) certification.
• SCTE Broadband Distribution Specialist (BDS) certification.
• Other relevant telecom industry certifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the technical workforce responsible for telecommunications infrastructure.
• Train, develop, and mentor team members to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Provide strong leadership and effective communication across various audiences.
• Conduct regular quality control inspections of installation and service activities.
• Manage an on-call rotation for technicians to ensure emergency coverage.
• Collaborate with the Technical Development Team to design and implement training programs.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements in all field activities.
• Act as the primary escalation point for field-related customer concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of technician training and compliance with company policies.
• Manage inventory control, including tools, materials, and vehicle inspections.
