About the position

The General Manager at Elanco Cafe is responsible for overseeing the overall operation and cost-effective management of multiple dining service departments across various facilities. This role emphasizes providing exceptional service to residents and customers while achieving financial goals and targets. The position requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and a passion for food and hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall operation of multiple dining service departments.
• Ensure timely service and adherence to established timelines by management and clients.
• Oversee financial planning, budget development, and financial reporting.
• Interact professionally with associates, peers, managers, suppliers, clients, and customers.
• Conduct management meetings and audits to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Hire, train, and orient new management associates.
• Evaluate problems and make appropriate recommendations.

Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field, or A.A. Degree plus 5-7 years of related experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of retail operational foodservice management experience.
• Good knowledge of food and catering trends, focusing on quality, production, sanitation, and food cost controls.
• P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable.
• Multi-unit management experience preferred.
• Experience with cash retail operations and retail marketing is highly desirable.
• Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and various computer programs.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification is highly desirable.
