About the position

As the Manager of Labor Relations at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS), you will play a pivotal role in managing and directing the labor relations function within the organization. This position is essential for supporting the division and department's mission, vision, and principles at the Savannah River Site. You will oversee a labor relations organization that consists of five units, including direct hire labor relations, subcontract labor relations, employment, employee processing, equal employment opportunity, and employee concerns. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring that the labor relations activities align with the company's goals and comply with relevant laws and regulations. In this role, you will be responsible for negotiating and administering labor agreements with 15 separate building and trades unions representing all unionized construction employees at the Savannah River Site. You will monitor and resolve cases involving the National Labor Relations Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and other regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. Your ability to provide direction and guidance will inspire efficient performance and promote a culture of safety and commitment to site policies among employees. Additionally, you will coordinate with senior management and the Department of Energy on labor relations activities, oversee special projects, and ensure the resolution of grievances and employee concerns. You will also play a key role in career development for employees, encouraging personal job growth and participation in various trust funds and training programs. This position requires a strong understanding of labor relations, industrial relations, and human resources management, as well as the ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the Labor Relations organization, including direct hire and subcontract labor relations, employment, and employee concerns.
  • Negotiate and administer labor agreements with 15 building and trades unions.
  • Monitor and resolve cases with the National Labor Relations Board and other regulatory bodies.
  • Provide leadership to inspire efficient performance and commitment to site policies.
  • Coordinate with senior management and the Department of Energy on labor relations activities.
  • Oversee special projects and labor relations issues, including support for the Army Corps of Engineers.
  • Ensure resolution of grievances, labor standards appeals, and jurisdictional disputes.
  • Encourage career development and personal job growth for employees.
  • Participate as a management trustee in various trust funds and training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent State Credential.
  • Experience in Labor Relations practices, including negotiating labor agreements and resolving grievances.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor relations, industrial relations, employee relations, and human resources management.
  • Familiarity with labor and employment law, equal employment opportunity law, and negotiation techniques.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an 'L' security clearance.

Nice-to-haves
