About the position
The Mental Health Residential Advisor position at Devereux/TCV Community Services is a full-time role focused on providing support to adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses. The advisor will work as part of a team to facilitate community integration, quality care, and training based on the Recovery Model. The role involves teaching daily living skills, providing crisis intervention, and ensuring medication monitoring, all while fostering a supportive and positive environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach activities of daily living to consumers in a residential setting, including shopping, cooking, and hygiene.
- Provide crisis prevention and intervention support.
- Facilitate planning of social and recreational activities, including consumer groups and community meetings.
- Provide transportation and accompany individuals to recreational and community activities.
- Monitor medication intake and ensure accurate medication management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in social services with adults facing drug and alcohol, forensic, or mental health issues is preferred.
- Act 33/34, Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances are required.
- Completion of new hire and 24 hours of annual training is required.
