About the position
As a Microbiology Supervisor at Ardent Health, you will oversee the operations of the microbiology department, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while promoting effective operations. You will be a key resource for technical personnel, responsible for training and evaluating new employees and students, and adapting personnel scheduling based on patient census fluctuations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor supply purchases and worked hours, adjusting personnel scheduling as needed to adapt to fluctuations in patient census.
- Develop, review, and revise policy and procedure manuals to ensure accuracy and compliance with accrediting agencies.
- Evaluate technical performance and competency of personnel, establishing and maintaining a relationship with each individual employee to understand their goals and support their development.
- Identify, investigate, document, and resolve minor and major problems in the department, keeping the department supervisor informed of issues and resolutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- MT/MLT certification from ASCP required
- 5-7 years of Microbiology experience
