About the position
The Microbiology Supervisor at Hillcrest Medical Center is responsible for leading the microbiology team, ensuring effective laboratory operations, and providing technical guidance. This role involves managing personnel, developing policies, and maintaining compliance with accrediting agencies while fostering a supportive environment for staff development.
Responsibilities
- Enforce sectional and departmental policies and procedures to promote effective laboratory operations.
- Monitor supply purchases and worked hours, adjusting personnel scheduling as needed.
- Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues.
- Responsible for scheduling, training, and evaluating new employees and students.
- Develop, review, and revise policy and procedure manuals to ensure compliance with accrediting agencies.
- Evaluate technical performance and competency of personnel.
- Establish and maintain relationships with employees, understanding their goals and supporting their development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- MT/MLT certification from ASCP required.
- 5-7 years of Microbiology experience.
