About the position
The Microelectronics Development Lab Lead is responsible for overseeing technology development and managing engineering labs focused on microelectronics. This role involves supervising a team, conducting failure analysis, and ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance protocols. The position emphasizes collaboration across various departments to support product development and maintain lab operations.
Responsibilities
- Support technology development and supervise facilities in engineering labs focused on microelectronics development.
- Perform work order-based failure analysis inspections on electrical components and generate reports.
- Conduct inspections and metrology for product development using various techniques including optical profilometry and X-ray inspection.
- Execute reverse engineering tasks including X-ray inspection and delayering of electrical components.
- Supervise a team of 5-10 technicians, specialists, and engineers.
- Represent Engineering in the Lab Council and attend biweekly meetings to track calibration and audit preparations.
- Lead sourcing for lab consumables and manage the budget to ensure traceability.
- Coordinate vendor and customer visits across multiple lab spaces.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of related experience; or 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience in electrical component failure analysis, counterfeit detection, and reverse engineering.
- Experience interacting cross-functionally with Facilities, Security, Operations, and Safety.
- Knowledge of chemical safety handling and waste disposal.
- Prior or current management experience.
