About the position

To support progress across our industry, we provide state-of-the-art components and vertically integrated infrastructure for others to build on via Science Foundry. We are seeking a Microfabrication Integration Engineer focused on the integration of our microelectronic devices. Your main focus will be the integrating different microfabricated components together from different traditional technology sectors. As a company, we employ diverse approaches to address complex problems, which means you will be expected to conceive, design, and develop innovative device integration schemes. This is a hands-on position where you will need to use microfabrication skills to modify devices, develop processes, design or purchase equipment and demonstrate success. While our goal is to move quickly, once the optimal solution is identified, we aim to scale our work to impact as many people as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Development of microelectronic integration solutions across various technologies (e.g., silicon-silicon, silicon to III-V).
  • Develop and support wafer fabrication processes.
  • Develop and support packaging and assembly processes.
  • Conduct characterization and failure analysis of wafers and packaged components.
  • Interface and coordinate with IC designers, microfabrication engineers, electrical engineers, and biologists on highly interdisciplinary projects.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in microfabrication and device integration within cleanroom environments.
  • Proficient in design, fabrication, failure analysis, and rapid iteration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with peers, engineers, and technicians.
  • Proven ability to overcome unforeseen challenges in a dynamic work environment with shifting timelines.
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
