About the position
The Manufacturing Engineer III at Micropac Industries is a key role focused on enhancing manufacturing processes and ensuring product quality for mission-critical electronics. This position emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and continuous improvement, contributing to innovative solutions in various applications including satellite, medical, and defense/aerospace sectors.
Responsibilities
- Establish a strong focus on internal and external customer service
- Design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
- Provide technical support and assist in resolution of manufacturing problems as required
- Confer with design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure proficient production methods
- Confer with vendors to resolve equipment, materials and/or quality issues impacting product quality
- Apply statistical methods to analysis of key manufacturing processes and controls
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of BOM structure and change control process
- Understand product line designs and project cost make-up
- Support cost reduction activities to achieve company goals
- Demonstrate good interpersonal and training skills
- Work independently and resolve technical and manufacturing issues without detailed direction
- Lead the identification, purchase, and implementation of new equipment for the manufacturing floor
- Coordinate maintenance and repair service for equipment following established procedures
Requirements
- BS degree in engineering or related discipline; MS degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years working experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or related engineering position
- Minimum of 20 years working experience in a directly related position of responsibility may be considered in place of formal college degree
- Demonstrates accuracy and proficiency in execution of job responsibilities
- Strong interpersonal skills across all departments
- Capable of leading a team in a company-directed project or effort
- PC and CAD literate
