About the position

The Account Manager position at Leica Microsystems is pivotal for driving sales growth and managing customer relationships in the New York City area. This role focuses on expanding direct sales and profit margins for Leica's products and services, while ensuring customer satisfaction and effective collaboration with various teams. The Account Manager will be responsible for complete product portfolio management and will work remotely with up to 60% travel required.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies with the selling team to generate funnel and increase sales/market share of Leica products in assigned territory.
• Identify selling opportunities across product lines, focusing on lead generation in confocal and widefield product portfolios.
• Partner effectively with Sales Managers, PLT members, Customer Service Technicians, Engineers, Accounting, and Manufacturing to satisfy customer needs.
• Manage the sales pipeline rigorously from opportunity creation to closing deals, including Salesforce opportunity management and visual management of forecasts.
• Generate appropriate field data and application notes or publications that highlight product benefits and differentiate Leica products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related scientific field (advanced degree preferred).
• Success selling products of a technical nature desired.
• Demonstrated core understanding of Microscopy / Imaging / Application.
• Strong relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of specific area of work (Commercial, Government, University, etc.).
