About the position

The Senior Microsoft SQL Server Developer will be responsible for developing reporting and dashboard solutions for various business units using tools such as Power BI, SSRS, and Tableau. This role involves collaborating with IT management, data owners, and business units to create models and protocols that align with company goals, ensuring timely and effective data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop reporting and dashboard requirements for various business units.
• Collaborate with IT management, data owners, and business units to create models, procedures, and protocols.
• Utilize SSRS, Power BI, and other reporting tools to develop reports.
• Meet with decision makers and end users to define requirements and goals.
• Coordinate the creation and management of dashboards, scorecards, and reporting structures.
• Prioritize requests with process owners and the data team.
• Design data visualizations and determine the best presentation methods for end users.
• Prepare and deliver reports, analytics, and interactive intelligence across the organization.
• Develop expertise in assigned subject areas of the data warehouse.
• Advise managers and stakeholders on effective use of organizational data capabilities.
• Liaise with business groups to implement improved business intelligence processes.
• Coordinate post-implementation support and end-user reviews for new data visualizations.

Requirements

• 10 years of related work experience in Microsoft SQL Server.
• Proven experience with report writing, dashboard development, and data visualization techniques.
• Experience writing complex SQL for relational databases, specifically Microsoft SQL Server.
• Working knowledge of SSRS and Power BI is desirable.
• Experience with OpenText BI and/or Tableau is beneficial.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
