About the position

The Workplace Technology Engineer at Sixth Street is responsible for building, deploying, and supporting the Microsoft 365 platform within a small engineering team. This role focuses on system administration, ensuring seamless integration of existing and future systems, and managing end-user device management for Windows and iOS devices. The engineer will leverage their expertise in Microsoft 365/Azure AD architecture and security to enhance employee productivity and maintain compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert and Administrator for Microsoft 365 configuration and policies.
  • Manage Microsoft Exchange Online and Azure secure configuration with Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) policies.
  • Implement compliance and data retention strategies using Microsoft 365 Data Loss Protection (DLP) and other native capabilities.
  • Support various device platforms through Microsoft Endpoint Manager and corporate enrollment processes.
  • Develop and implement support strategies, including documentation and runbooks for the Service Desk team.
  • Translate technical specifications and errors for both technical and non-technical customers.
  • Manage problem resolution and track ongoing issues through the ticketing system.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as an O365 Engineer and 10+ years of professional technology experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft 365 Platform, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Endpoint Manager.
  • In-depth knowledge of AD, Azure Active Directory, and the Microsoft Identity Platform.
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Autopilot or MDM management.
  • Expertise in PowerShell for managing on-premises and O365 environments.
  • Familiarity with application monitoring tools and log file reviews.
  • Broad knowledge of Microsoft 365 technical architecture and interdependencies.

Nice-to-haves

  • 15+ years overall IT experience preferred.
  • Experience with Mac and iOS device management.
  • Okta Administration and integrations experience.
  • SaaS application administration experience with tools like Box, Zoom, Slack, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Progressive experience in developing technical solutions using O365 Suite of products.
