About the position

Prescient Edge is seeking a Mid-Level Data Scientist to support a federal government client. This role involves conducting various forms of data analysis, including data engineering, predictive analysis, and statistical analysis, to enable informed decision-making. The Data Scientist will work with complex data sets, build AI tools, and develop machine learning-based applications, all while adhering to established guidelines and best practices in software development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data analytics, data engineering, data mining, exploratory analysis, predictive analysis, and statistical analysis.
• Proactively retrieve and analyze information from various sources to enhance understanding of data sets.
• Build AI tools to automate processes and create machine learning-based applications such as recommendation engines.
• Perform statistical analysis and apply data mining techniques to develop high-quality prediction systems.
• Design, prototype, and deploy complex asynchronous frameworks and distributed caching frameworks.
• Support software and web architecture development, including requirements analysis and integration of COTS/GOTS tools.
• Develop and maintain architectural documents and governance processes for infrastructure management.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in data analysis, with some experience in the last 2 years.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience (12 years total experience may substitute for degree).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and collaborate with other team members.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with large data Multi-INT analytics and automated predictive analytics.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Cloud Foundry, and OpenShift.
• Experience with software process management and configuration management.
