About the position

Our client is looking for an exceptional Mid-IT Project Manager, who is willing to grow into the project management space. This position is a long-term contract role based in Houston, Downtown, requiring onsite presence five days a week. The IT Project Manager will manage the project life cycle of various projects, providing leadership by defining project objectives and scope for each phase. The role involves overseeing quality control throughout the project's life cycle, acquiring and managing resources, and coordinating the efforts of team members to ensure that projects/products are delivered according to plan. The IT Project Manager will assist senior project managers in planning, organizing, and managing IT projects. This includes supporting project documentation such as project plans, schedules, and status reports. The role requires coordination with team members, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure that project milestones are met. The Project Manager will track project progress, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies, as well as assist in budget management and resource allocation. Administrative support for project meetings, including scheduling and documenting minutes, is also a key responsibility. Monitoring project deliverables to ensure quality standards are met, assisting in the implementation of project management best practices and methodologies, and supporting communication efforts to keep stakeholders informed about project status and changes are essential functions of this role. The Project Manager will also contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the project management team, ensuring that the team remains effective and efficient in delivering results.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting senior project managers in planning, organizing, and managing IT projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in the management of IT infrastructure and operations projects or applications project experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in midstream operations.
  • Knowledge of project management software and tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
