About the position

The Mid-Level AWS Cloud Solutions Architect will provide architectural guidance to development teams, focusing on the cost-effective design and implementation of cloud solutions. This role involves reviewing and optimizing existing cloud architectures, promoting cost-aware design patterns, and ensuring alignment with Marketplace best practices. The architect will analyze cloud usage and spending patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities and document system architecture using tools like Vizio and LucidChart. Collaboration with stakeholders across departments to align cloud cost management with business goals is essential, along with staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide architectural guidance to development teams for cloud solutions.
  • Review and optimize existing cloud architectures.
  • Recommend cost-efficient infrastructure and services.
  • Promote cost-aware design patterns and ensure alignment with Marketplace best practices.
  • Analyze cloud usage and spending patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Document system architecture and associated processes using tools like Vizio and LucidChart.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across different departments to align cloud cost management with business goals.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to improve Marketplace practices.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, focusing on AWS Cloud Platform.
  • Expertise in tools and platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and ECS for containerization and orchestration.
  • Experience using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools to manage cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience meeting and collaborating with stakeholders to create solutions and strengthen business goals.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Certified AWS Solutions Architect.
  • Experience supporting a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) contract.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate/Professional Certification preferred.
  • Experience in Azure.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and processes (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Circle CI).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., NewRelic, DataDog, Grafana).
  • Knowledge of cloud security tools, best practices, and compliance standards (IAM, encryption, security groups, etc.).
