About the position

AECOM is seeking a mid-level Civil Engineer III to be based in Honolulu, Hawaii. This position is expected to begin as soon as possible. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, performing specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. The engineer will gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. The role involves working on detailed or routine engineering assignments that require calculations and relatively simple tests. The engineer will propose approaches to solve new problems encountered, using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments. Identifying discrepancies in results is also a key responsibility. In addition, the Civil Engineer III will provide guidance to entry-level engineers and perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules with little supervision. The engineer will independently perform all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works and is expected to work either independently or within a design team. Attendance at client meetings and coordination with diverse project teams is essential, along with excellent communication skills with project team members, partners, agencies, and clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field plus 4 years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License preferred to visit project sites or clients if public transportation is not available.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experienced with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
  • Engineer In Training Certification.
  • Experienced with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, Arc GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models.
  • Previous work experience with engineering firms, contractors, or government agencies involved in design, construction, or management of Water Resources, Site Development, Transportation, Stormwater, Wastewater or other general civil-related projects.
