About the position

The Mid Level Civil/Structural Overhead Transmission Line Engineer position at POWER Engineers involves working remotely within the Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department. The role focuses on preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables for overhead transmission line projects, providing mentorship, and ensuring project scope, budget, and quality are met.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering deliverables in support of overhead transmission line projects.
• Develop PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE models.
• Create project design criteria and steel pole loading calculations.
• Produce engineering drawings and specifications, including foundation designs and drawings.
• Compile bills of materials for projects.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
• Perform detailed engineering reviews of work submitted by others.
• Coordinate with the Project Engineer to ensure project scope, budget, and quality expectations are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an accredited university.
• Two or more years of experience in the design of overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines.
• Experience with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE software.
• Foundation design experience using industry software (RISA, L-PILE, FAD, etc.).
• Engineer in Training (EIT) registration is required.
• Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills.
• Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional Engineering license (PE) strongly preferred.
• Master's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is a plus.
• Experience in distribution/underbuild design is a plus.
• Managerial and leadership skills are a plus.
