Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Mid-Level Communications Security Specialist to join our dynamic team in Hazelwood, Missouri. This role is critical as it involves direct interaction with the Government customer, acting as a COMSEC representative responsible for the management of all procurement, fielding, and sustainment of Crypto/Keying material and devices that support the program. The specialist will play a key role in ensuring the security and integrity of communications through effective management of cryptographic materials and compliance with established protocols. The responsibilities of the Communications Security Specialist include tracking, controlling, and managing inventory requirements for all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and company-owned equipment. The specialist will ensure proper accountability, handling, storage, packaging, shipment, and administration of all cryptographic materials. This includes troubleshooting, performing software upgrades, and ensuring that maximum COMSEC safeguards are in place. The role also involves configuration management using industry-specific databases, ordering and transferring cryptographic keys, and interfacing with the Central Office of Record (COR). Communication with subcontracting locations and providing changes and trend information to other security team members and management is also a key aspect of this position. Additionally, the specialist will assist in the ongoing development and presentation of COMSEC security awareness training for all COMSEC users. They will perform Cryptographic Network Management (CryptoNet) functions, manage COMSEC key, equipment, configuration, distribution, and planning for the entire secure network. As the CryptoNet manager, the specialist will have the authority to direct the Central Office of Record to release COMSEC Key and CCI equipment for the secure network, regardless of location. Monitoring the health and wellness of secure networks, ensuring all networks operate on current key, and managing remote network operations are also part of the role. The specialist will validate all cryptographic network requirements, node requirements, and accreditations, as well as physical security requirements, and will be responsible for creating and maintaining a Key Management Plan (KMP). Finally, they will create processes for network sustainment and expansion, engineer keying infrastructure/topology, and ensure compliance with NSA and COR policies.
