About the position

Belay Technologies is seeking a Mid-Level Database Administrator (DBA) to maintain database integrity, security, availability, and compliance with business processes throughout the database life cycle. The DBA will perform disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring, while also evaluating and recommending database management system products. This role involves organizing and formatting data for efficient query and storage, and requires a strong background in various database technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain database integrity, security, availability, and compliance with business processes.
  • Perform disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, and index maintenance.
  • Monitor database performance and recommend improvements.
  • Evaluate and recommend database management system products.
  • Organize and format data for efficient query and storage.
  • Create and maintain bash scripts for database maintenance tasks.
  • Run SQL agent jobs for MSSQL and install software on Linux platforms.
  • Manage configurations and deployments using tools like Salt and Ansible.
  • Automate data flows between software systems using NIFI.
  • Configure containerized applications using Ranger and Docker.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI with full scope polygraph is required.
  • Seven (7) years of experience as a DBA in similar programs and contracts.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of additional DBA experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, MariaDB, and Postgres databases.
  • Ability to create/maintain bash scripts for database tasks.
  • Experience with performance tuning and transaction logging.
  • Familiarity with Linux platforms, specifically RedHat.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Centify for identity management.
  • Ability to manage PKI certificates and perform conversions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with nLyte and NEO datacenter inventory management applications.
  • Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Knowledge of Wazuh and Nxlog for log management.
  • Experience with Vcenter/Vsphere for building VMs.
