About the position

LJB Engineering is seeking a full-time Mid-Level Design Engineer to perform engineering design tasks for various projects. The role involves collaborating with clients and mentoring junior engineers while ensuring high-quality design and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design tasks for projects from preliminary to final design.
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
• Establish working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project manager.
• Provide engineering design services for traditional design-bid-build projects and design-build projects.
• Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design and construction plans.
• Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers.
• Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, and scheduling performance.
• Actively participate and serve in positions with professional organization(s).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• P.E. license required.
• 4-9 years of experience required.
• Experience working with DOTs preferred.
• MicroStation, GEOPAK or OpenRoads software experience preferred.
