About the position

As a Mid Level DevOps Engineer at Remotely Inc, you will play a crucial role in our technology team, focusing on enhancing our systems and ensuring the reliability of our services. This position is designed for individuals with 2-3 years of experience in DevOps, particularly those who are adept at working with Python code bases and complex threat detection algorithms in high-traffic environments. Your primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting complex production issues, performing system programming and automation, and defining requirements that influence new designs and standards within the product lifecycle. In this role, you will be expected to participate in on-call rotations, guiding the restoration and repair of service-impacting issues. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with Development and Quality Assurance teams to create more robust solutions, improve code quality, and enhance system stability. This position is remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the US or Canada, and is part of our ongoing effort to build a talent pool for future openings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems performance, site reliability, or DevOps engineering, with proven experience in developing software using Python or other scripting languages. Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or Redis, as well as orchestration tools like Chef or Ansible, will be essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • 2 years of relevant experience in DevOps or related field
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as a systems performance/site reliability or DevOps engineer
  • Experience in developing software using Python or any scripting programming language
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases, such as Cassandra or Redis
  • Experience with orchestration tools e.g. Chef and/or Ansible
