About the position

The position involves working as an electrical engineer specializing in the design and operation of utility electrical systems. The role requires applying engineering knowledge to develop new designs and perform quality reviews of project deliverables. The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide integrated solutions for various industries.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with the design and operation of utility electrical systems.
• Develop new designs based on engineering calculations.
• Perform quality reviews of project deliverables.
• Apply knowledge of utility standards and joint facilities design.
• Develop construction packages for projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET), Mechanical Engineering (BSME), or Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET accredited university, preferably with a power option.
• Three or more years of experience in the design and operation of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV).
• Experience with utility standards, joint facilities design, and construction package development.
• Familiarity with distribution design software and the National Electric Safety Code.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional Engineering license (P.E.) or ability to achieve P.E. within six months of hire date.
• Exposure to utility Geographical Information Systems (GIS) such as GE Smallworld, ArcFM, DDS.
• Ability to lead and direct a team of engineers, designers, and drafters.
