About the position

The Mid Level E&I Designer position at Pelican Energy Consultants involves performing design work under the guidance of a Drafting Manager. The role requires a solid understanding of the components being designed and the ability to generate detailed drawings within assigned disciplines. Designers will also delegate tasks to drafters and are expected to communicate effectively with various personnel, ensuring high-quality and accurate work.

Responsibilities

• Perform design duties utilizing company standards and engineering practices.
• Conduct Computer Aided 3D Modeling on assigned projects using AutoCAD.
• Generate different types of scaled and non-scaled drawings.
• Print, plot, and file drawings as required.
• Occasionally travel out of town for short periods to gather field data for projects.
• Complete high-paced assignments through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning, and execution of assigned work.
• Communicate effectively with a diverse range of personnel including engineers, designers, vendors, and management.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of work.
• Identify potential project-related problems and propose solutions.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Vocational/Technical Drafting and Design 2-year Associates Degree or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of related experience in design work.
• Operational knowledge of AutoCAD and CADWorx 3D Modeling software.
• Minimum 1 year experience utilizing Aeries CARS Cable and Raceway Systems database.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a Windows environment.
