About the position

As a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer at Henderson Engineers, you will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of electrical systems across various sectors, including Business, Community, Grocery & Distribution, Health, Retail, and Venue. Your expertise will help bring buildings to life, integrating engineering knowledge with practical field experience to deliver exceptional client experiences. In this role, you will perform calculations and design electrical systems with a high degree of independence. You will prepare detailed electrical system layouts, drawings, and schematics, ensuring they conform to plans and specifications. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing shop drawings, conducting research to evaluate the feasibility of systems or equipment, and making recommendations based on your findings. You will assist in developing and maintaining relationships with strategic partners and customers, supporting business development efforts. Continuous learning is a key aspect of this position, and you will be expected to stay updated on industry software such as Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office Products. You may also be involved in project coordination activities, managing communications, coordinating project scope and schedules, attending client meetings, and ensuring project quality. Additionally, you will act as a resource for training and assisting others within the team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs calculations and designs basic to advanced engineering systems with a high degree of independence.
  • Prepares basic to advanced electrical system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
  • Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
  • Performs research and makes recommendations as to the feasibility of systems or equipment.
  • Evaluates products for their application.
  • Assists with developing, establishing, and maintaining relationships with strategic partners and customers in support of business development and/or pursuit activities.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities for continuous learning and understanding of industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office Products.
  • May support or be responsible for project coordination activities such as managing emails, coordinating scope and schedule, attending client meetings, ensuring project quality, responding to client questions, and coordinating project delivery.
  • Acts as a resource for training or assisting others as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering preferred and 3 years of relevant experience, or 5 years of experience without degree required.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license may be counted toward 1 year of direct experience.
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Completion of FE exam, LEED and/or WELL accreditation.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry, codes, design guides, and standards required.
  • Experience in designing data centers.
  • Experience in designing security systems.
