About the position

WSP is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical/Energy Engineer to join their team in Gainesville, FL. This role involves working on energy-related projects, including energy auditing, HVAC and lighting systems, and solar photovoltaic and EV charging systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, project management skills, and a commitment to energy efficiency and sustainable design.

Responsibilities

• Work on technical assignments in both field and office settings, supporting electrical design and energy-related projects.
• Conduct field assignments that may be local, national, or international, with an estimated overnight travel requirement of about 20%.
• Participate in team assignments for lighting and HVAC retrofit projects, solar photovoltaic and EV charging project assessment and design.
• Interface with clients and contractors, providing project cost estimation and energy auditing services.
• Identify energy conservation measures and assist in rebate identification and procurement.
• Engage in DDC systems and building simulation energy modeling.
• Adhere to the company's Beyond Zero safety program and maintain safe workplace practices.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of related experience in electrical engineering or energy efficiency.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Flexibility to work and travel outside normal business hours as required.
• Background in lighting and electrical design, energy auditing, and ECM cost estimating.
• Desire for continuous learning and ability to learn quickly on the job.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Word; AutoCAD proficiency preferred but not required.
• Must pass drug test and background check.
