About the position

Gradient, a Geosyntec Company, is seeking a motivated and resourceful Mid-Level Environmental Engineer or Scientist to support challenging technical work related to chemical fate and transport. This role offers the opportunity to join a growing practice in either downtown Boston, MA or Charlottesville, VA, focusing on environmental sciences and health risk consulting.

Responsibilities

  • Project task management, including planning and delivering high quality work products that are well written and meet project needs.
  • Develop appropriate technical approaches for achieving specific project goals.
  • Research to identify pollutant sources.
  • Research state, federal and/or international environmental regulations.
  • Research and evaluate chemical fate & transport.
  • Quantitative data analysis and visualization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related geosciences field (required).
  • At least 5 years (7+ preferred) of environmental consulting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (required).
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills (required).
  • Ability to balance multiple projects with strict deadlines (required).
  • Prior experience related to site investigation and contaminant fate and transport (required).

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in environmental engineering or related geosciences field (preferred).
  • Proven leadership skills (preferred).
  • Prior experience with flow/transport modeling (preferred).
  • Prior knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (preferred).
