About the position

LMI is seeking a Mid-Level Financial/Program Data Analyst to support a CBP PMO in the National Capital Region. This role involves applying analytic methodologies to enhance the safety and efficiency of U.S. border operations. The analyst will work within a collaborative team to deliver innovative solutions that address complex challenges in data analysis and visualization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply analytic methodologies and principles, including data mining, text analytics, business intelligence, modeling data, qualitative, quantitative, and data visualization, in support of ongoing initiatives.
  • Assist in the application of analytic techniques and provide recommendations for objective and strategic direction.
  • Resolve complex problems requiring in-depth knowledge of analytic methodologies and principles.
  • Analyze acquisition data and formulate recommendations.
  • Design and develop materials, evaluating effectiveness according to stated guidelines and specifications.
  • Conduct research, data gathering, and technical reviews, producing written deliverables such as reports, spreadsheets, and databases.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree and 6 or more years in data analysis/visualization.
  • Experience developing and applying analytic methodologies and principles, including data mining, text analytics, business intelligence, and data visualization.
  • Demonstrable data analysis experience with the ability to provide recommendations for strategic direction.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and effectively solve problems.
  • Ability to pass a government background investigation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation is a significant plus.
  • Previous work formulating or executing CBP budgets.
  • Relevant certification(s) such as CGFM, CDFM, PMP, CFCM, and/or CPCM.
