About the position

i3 is seeking a motivated and results-oriented Mid-Level Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) who is passionate about training. This position requires hands-on experience with the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate (ADDIE) Instructional Model. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and developing job tasks, learning objectives, and instructional tools and techniques for creating Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI). The ideal candidate will apply a commonsense approach to producing training that yields measurable performance outcomes. This role is based in either our Huntsville or Orlando offices, with the option for hybrid work arrangements. In this role, the ISD will facilitate data collection meetings to ensure the acquisition of all required and relevant data. They will leverage sound instructional design principles, prevailing learning theories, and performance improvement processes using the ADDIE model. The ISD will review technical guidance and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to extract technical instructional content that supports learning objectives. Participation in creative and technical development teams is essential to identify appropriate and innovative IMI solutions. The ISD will proactively engage stakeholders to successfully accomplish schedule milestones and will utilize Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) tools to develop storyboards and courseware. Collaboration with other ISDs, Project Managers, and development team members is crucial to meet production, quality, and schedule requirements. The ISD must ensure that 100% of their work output complies with requirements and quality standards, and they will organize course content in accordance with instructional design plans. Willingness to travel as required is also a key aspect of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Willingness to travel, as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Systems Design, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Instructional Technology, or related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Three (3)+ years of relevant experience, including the development of IMI learning solutions.
  • U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Instructional Systems Design, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Instructional Technology, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience with gamification of IMI solutions is preferred.
  • Experience developing courseware with rapid authoring tools (Adobe Captivate and/or Storyline 360) is a plus.
  • Experience with DoD training standards, requirements, and IMI products preferred.
