About the position

The Mid-Level Instrumentation & Controls Engineer will be part of a multi-discipline engineering team focused on enhancing nuclear power plant instrumentation and controls. This role involves working with various electronic and mechanical systems to improve plant functionality, preparing specifications for equipment procurement, and conducting engineering calculations for plant upgrades. The position offers opportunities for professional growth through mentoring and training, and includes travel for design reviews and project coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Work on multi-discipline engineering teams for nuclear power plant instrumentation and controls projects.
  • Integrate electrical and mechanical engineering with control theory.
  • Utilize electronic process sensors, digital controllers, and other equipment to enhance nuclear power plant functionality.
  • Prepare specifications for procurement of instrumentation and controls equipment.
  • Conduct engineering calculations for plant upgrades and modifications.
  • Participate in mentoring and technical training sessions to enhance engineering skills.
  • Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for project coordination.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Strong academic background with coursework in analog and digital control systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering for nuclear power plant control systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
