About the position

We offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background in engineering. In this role, you will work on a multi-discipline engineering team involved in nuclear power plant instrumentation and controls betterment projects. These projects represent a synergistic integration of both electrical and mechanical engineering along with control theory. You will engage with electronic process sensors, digital controllers, touchscreen displays, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, steam turbines, and reactors to enhance the functionality of nuclear power plants. Your responsibilities will include preparing specifications for the procurement of instrumentation and controls equipment, as well as performing engineering calculations associated with plant upgrades and modifications. Through mentoring, classroom-style technical sessions, and on-the-job training, you will have the opportunity to increase your knowledge and skills in your engineering discipline. Additionally, you will have the chance to travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for project coordination and field verification of designs. This position is based on a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office work three days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Work on multi-discipline engineering teams for nuclear power plant instrumentation and controls projects.
  • Engage with electronic process sensors, digital controllers, touchscreen displays, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, steam turbines, and reactors.
  • Prepare specifications for procurement of instrumentation and controls equipment.
  • Perform engineering calculations for plant upgrades and modifications.
  • Participate in mentoring and technical sessions to enhance engineering knowledge and skills.
  • Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for project coordination and field verification.

Requirements

  • A BS or MS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Strong academic background and coursework in analog and digital control systems.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering for nuclear power plant control systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
