About the position

KBR is seeking a Mid-Level Integration Engineer to support our customer in Chantilly, VA, delivering mission-critical capabilities that enable them to plan and execute intelligence-gathering missions from overhead systems. This role involves processing the resulting collected data into useful information distributed to Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) users. The Integration Engineer will play a crucial role in enabling the integration of the portfolio mission capabilities, focusing on delivering a holistic architecture that addresses current and emerging threats. In this position, the Integration Engineer will provide Systems Engineering Technical Advisor (SETA) and Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) services, with a strong emphasis on the integration and operations of a complex mission system and supporting IT infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate with team leads, program managers, and acquisition professionals to validate an acquisition strategy, ensuring it supports a technically feasible outcome that meets the customer's needs. This role also involves integrating new systems and initiatives in support of customer and mission partner requirements, working directly with developers and users in operations. The successful candidate will need to understand system-to-system interfaces and function as an Integrator, assisting in the preparation of presentations and reports. The role requires utilizing mission-specific and commercial applications for Agile software integration activities, including tools such as Confluence, Kanban, and JIRA. This position is essential for ensuring that the integration of various systems aligns with the strategic goals of the organization and meets the operational needs of the mission partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Systems Engineering Technical Advisor (SETA) and Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) services focusing on integration and operations of a complex mission system and supporting IT infrastructure.
  • Work with team leads, program managers, and acquisition professionals to validate an acquisition strategy and its ability to support a technically feasible outcome that meets the customer's needs.
  • Integrate new systems and initiatives in support of customer/mission partner requirements and work directly with developers and users in operations.
  • Understand system-to-system interfaces and function as an Integrator.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports.
  • Utilize mission-specific and commercial applications for Agile software integration activities including Confluence, Kanban, JIRA, etc.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
  • A technical degree: 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 5 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.
  • Intelligence Community experience with the National Reconnaissance Office or Mission Partners.
  • Experience integrating the architectures of multiple intelligence systems.
  • Experience identifying user/enterprise requirements, gap identification and analysis.
  • Experience creating brief packages for technical requirements, implementation plans, risks, and success criteria.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • The ability to quickly/concisely brief project status to senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based product offerings/specifications and the ability to offer solutions.
  • Experience with software frameworks, Agile software development process (i.e., SAFE) and deliveries of new capabilities.
  • Experience utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
