About the position

The Mid Level Interior Designer role involves assisting in the analysis of interior design projects, materials, and planning studies under the supervision of senior staff. The position requires a blend of technical skills in design software and the ability to communicate design concepts effectively. The designer will work on various tasks including preparing design presentations, conducting materials investigations, and managing digital files, while also developing relationships within the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analyses of interior design and materials, planning and occupancy studies, and limited design layouts.
  • Assemble the organization and components of SD, DD, and CD sets under supervision.
  • Compile data, prepare plans/renderings, models, graphics, and design presentations guided by senior staff.
  • Conduct materials investigations and assemble sample presentations, including layout boards and material boards.
  • Participate in design discussions about the development of elevations, plans, and sections at the schematic level.
  • Conduct research on FF&E and assist with data collection as directed.
  • Utilize basic digital drawing skills and knowledge in design tasks.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Revit, CADD, and Adobe/Blue Beam software.
  • Create diagrams, renderings, and drawings to communicate design concepts effectively.
  • Manage digital files and adhere to standards for documentation and presentation.

Requirements

  • 2 years of relevant experience or multiple internships in interior design.
  • Interior design or equivalent degree preferred.
  • Enrollment in and pursuit of professional certification, registration, or sustainable accreditation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit is required.
  • Experience with Rhino is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic understanding of codes and standards affecting design.
  • General understanding of finishes and their applications on CBT projects.
  • Familiarity with the furniture specification process.
