About the position

The Mid-Level Interior Designer at Stantec is responsible for interpreting and translating client needs into cohesive interior design solutions. This role involves collaboration with architectural teams, producing design drawings, and presenting ideas while adhering to industry standards. The designer will advocate for design excellence and creativity, ensuring that projects meet client expectations and maintain the established design vision.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for design excellence and creativity within the practice of interior design.
  • Collaborate between offices to support multiple project teams while maintaining the established project design vision.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams and engage in dialog on design.
  • Investigate technology to improve efficiencies in design processes.
  • Communicate openly and honestly with respect and courtesy.
  • Share knowledge with team members, clients, and partners.
  • Anticipate client needs to consistently deliver excellent client service.
  • Solicit input from team members and seek guidance to address challenges.
  • Act as an ambassador and steward of the firm's portfolio of work.
  • Follow established standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Comply with professional ethical standards and codes.
  • Engage with a professional organization outside the firm that contributes to the visibility of the firm.
  • Clarify expectations and encourage accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Interior Design or related field is required.
  • Interior Design License is required.
  • Minimum of five years of related experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry associated standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUP, and Newforma.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the education sector is a plus.
  • Ability to hand sketch and communicate concepts effectively.
  • Exhibits maturity and cultural awareness internally and externally.
