About the position

The Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer position at POWER Engineers involves working in the Power Generation Mechanical Department, focusing on designing mechanical systems for renewable and fossil power generation facilities. The role emphasizes collaboration with various clients and engineering disciplines, ensuring effective communication and project execution while promoting a healthy work-life balance through flexible work options.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical piping and equipment for renewable and fossil power generation facilities
• Prepare mechanical equipment and packaged equipment specifications and data sheets, RFQs, and technical bid evaluations
• Review mechanical equipment vendor drawings and data, interfacing with suppliers, clients, and other engineering disciplines
• Ensure effective communications with other engineering disciplines
• Prepare construction/installation scopes of work for mechanical systems
• Participate in the development of PFD's and P&ID's
• Perform piping design activities including sizing, pressure drop calculations, stress analysis, and pipe support design
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers

Requirements

• BSME (Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering) degree from an accredited university
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for industrial facilities
• Professional Engineering registration in at least one US State
• Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills

Nice-to-haves

• Power plant design experience
• Renewable natural gas plant design experience
• Working knowledge of Microstation or Auto CAD
• Working knowledge of Smart Plant 3D or CADworx
• Experience using Caesar II or AutoPipe
• Experience using Thermoflow
