About the position

QinetiQ US is seeking a Mid-Level multi-disciplined Security Specialist to support our client at the under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (USD(I&S)). The highly motivated candidate will be providing routine security support functions across the USD I&S enterprise. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and security of sensitive information and operations within the Department of Defense. The Security Specialist will be responsible for identifying and mitigating security incidents, developing response measures, and performing as the program security officer for special program support in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) environment. In this position, the Security Specialist will coordinate with various security offices, including the OUSD(I&S) Special Access Program Central Office, Special Security Office, Joint Staff, and Military Services security offices. This coordination is essential for guidance, direction, and resolution of security-related issues and requirements. The role also involves managing personnel clearance verifications, visitor requests, and providing necessary security briefings to ensure compliance with security protocols. The Security Specialist will initiate Personnel Access Request System (PARS) processes, facilitate Alternate Compensatory Control Measure access, and update and maintain classified access management systems of record. Additionally, the candidate will coordinate equipment, communications, and IT requirements within the SCIF. The role requires assisting in the development and execution of policies and procedures regarding special access programs and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) data. The Security Specialist will also be responsible for identifying and reporting vulnerabilities, threats, and risks to test, training, and operations activities, as well as managing action items in the Centralized Access Tracking Management System (CATMS) and Joint Security Access Program (JSAP).

Responsibilities

  • Identify and mitigate security incidents and develop response measures
  • Perform as the program security officer for special program support in a SCIF environment
  • Coordinate with the OUSD(I&S) Special Access Program Central Office, Special Security Office, Joint Staff, and Military Services security offices for guidance, direction, and resolution of security related issues and requirements

  • Initiate PARS and provide access briefings
  • Facilitate Alternate Compensatory Control Measure access
  • Update and maintain classified access management systems of record

  • Identify and report vulnerabilities, threats, and risks to test, training and operations activities
  • Manage action items in CATMS and JSAP.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 Years of experience
  • Previous experience with JPAS, Scattered Castles and CATMS and JSAP
  • Top Secret clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility required
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Willingness to actively communicate with co-workers, program leadership, and clients, which may involve delivering presentations.
