About the position

ALTA IT Services is seeking a mid-level Project Manager/Coordinator to support a leading consumer products supplier based in Columbus, OH. This role is pivotal in managing and coordinating the end-to-end development cycle of new products within the consumer products sector, particularly focusing on supply chain management. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams including Supplier Base, Marketing, Quality, and Supply Chain, ensuring that projects are driven from conception through to market launch. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for flexibility in the work environment. In this role, the Project Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. The individual will monitor and report on the progress of various new product development programs, providing regular updates on project status, schedules, and financials. Setting clear project deliverables and timelines is essential, as is managing multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing effectively to meet business objectives. The Project Manager will also provide technical and strategic advice to suppliers regarding product design, manufacturing processes, cost optimization, and scheduling. Identifying and communicating technical and schedule issues to team leaders is crucial, as is driving actions to address and resolve these issues promptly. The role requires facilitating cross-functional collaboration across the business to support product standardization and development initiatives, as well as developing resource plans and proactively managing project risks. Continuous improvement of business and department processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in project management, preferably in the development of consumer products.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes and supplier management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a large portfolio of projects with varying complexities.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and work effectively with suppliers.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and presentation skills.
